Is chocolate popular for a Bar/Bat Mitzvah favor and will it melt in transit?

We have clients constantly asking whether chocolate is a good favor to give and if it will melt or break in transit. Whether or not it is a good Bar/Bat Mitzvah favor depends upon who you are giving it to. If this is the only favor you are giving out to the kids at a party the answer is no. Your young guests always want to have something to take home with them that won't be gone the next day. So we highly suggest not making this the only party favor for the kids. If you want to give some kind of chocolate out in addition to a bag or t-shirt to the kids, that works perfect. They get to take something home and have a sweet for after the party or the next day. Where chocolate does work perfect is when you are giving it out to your adult guests to say thank you for coming. We recently did a Bar Mitzvah where they gave out chocolate pianos filled with Good and Plenty candy. I happen to be a guest at that party and we had at least ten people come up to us and tell us how beautiful they were and it was almost a shame to eat them. We can have the chocolate made into almost any kind of shape you can imagine, for example we did a lion's head for one party and a Broadway Playbill for another. In most cases we can have your artwork incorporated into the chocolate. So for adults you can't give a better Bar/Bat Mitzvah gift then a custom piece of chocolate.
As for the shipping, when we ship chocolate it is always packed in dry ice or a cooler to prevent melting. Plus it is shipped either one or two air to avoid the normal 5 days it takes UPS to deliver. We have never had any chocolate melt in transit. Breakage is a whole other story, it does happen on occasion that a piece of chocolate will break during shipping. When breakage does occur we overnite replacements so you have them the next day at no additional cost to you. For this reason we always request that you order early so we can schedule delivery so we have the extra time to replace any broken pieces. We have never had a single incident where we did not supply a full order of chocolate because of breakage, we always deliver a full order no matter what happens during shipping. So in conclusion chocolate is a great Bar/Bat Mitzvah favor for the adults and a great add on for the kids and melting or breakage are never a problem mostly because we always handle every problem promptly, professionally and always to our customer's satisfaction.
